Reggane in the Algerian Sahara was operated primarily as a French nuclear weapons test site (CEA-led atmospheric and underground tests 1960-1966) but also supported sounding-rocket and Véronique sub-orbital flights as part of the broader French Sahara testing complex centered on Hammaguir. Like Hammaguir, the site was vacated by France in 1967 following the Évian Accords. Included here for completeness as part of the pre-Kourou French Saharan rocket-testing footprint; rocket-launch activity at Reggane was secondary to its nuclear-test role.
