Spaceport Nova Scotia at Canso is being developed by Maritime Launch Services (TSX-V: MAXC) as the first commercial orbital launch site in North America outside the United States. Located on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, the site is targeting medium-lift LEO and SSO missions with a planned multi-pad layout. Site groundbreaking occurred in 2023, with a first suborbital launch targeted for 2026 and first orbital launch targeted for 2027.

Strategic Value
Strategically the most important non-U.S. North American spaceport: gives Canada a sovereign commercial launch capability, gives Canadian launch startups a domestic pad, and gives U.S. customers an export-control-friendly hop for certain payload classes. Execution risk is high — Canada's regulatory regime is being built in parallel with the site.
Recent Activity
Site groundbreaking completed 2023; suborbital pad construction ongoing through 2025; Transport Canada regulatory framework being finalized in parallel; MAXC raised additional capital on TSX-V in 2024–2025 to fund the suborbital milestone.
2026
First suborbital launch from Canso (NordSpace / Reaction Dynamics targets)
2027
First orbital launch attempt from Spaceport Nova Scotia
2028
Multi-pad orbital cadence ramp (1–3 launches/year target)
