Space lawyers practice at the intersection of public international law (Outer Space Treaty, Liability Convention, Registration Convention), national regulation (FAA Part 450, FCC, NOAA, ITU spectrum), commercial contract law (launch services agreements, satellite leases, hosted payloads), and emerging frontiers (lunar resource rights, debris liability, in-space servicing). An engineering or physics undergrad helps with technical fluency but is not required. Pre-law students often do international relations, history, or political science.
