The Trifid Nebula (M20) is a striking stellar nursery in Sagittarius, famous for the three dark dust lanes that slice its glowing pink gas into a clover-like trio — the feature that gives it its name. It is a rare cosmic three-in-one, combining a red emission nebula, a blue reflection nebula, and dark dust clouds all in a single bright object visible in small backyard telescopes.
