Overview
Soyuz MS-25 launched on 23 March 2024, two days after an automatic abort halted the first attempt at T-minus-20 seconds over a power-generator voltage drop. The mission carried NASA flight engineer Tracy C. Dyson for her third spaceflight and a long-duration ISS increment, alongside commander Oleg Novitsky and Belarusian visiting cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya. Vasilevskaya, a former flight attendant, became the first citizen of Belarus to fly in space, and the flight marked the first time two women launched together aboard a Soyuz. Novitsky and Vasilevskaya spent twelve days on the station before returning on Soyuz MS-24 with Loral O'Hara. Dyson stayed on for Expedition 71, conducting research and a spacewalk, and landed on the Kazakh steppe on 23 September 2024 after nearly 184 days in orbit.
