Biography
Command Module Pilot on the American side of the Apollo–Soyuz Test Project, the first international crewed mission. He went on to command three Space Shuttle flights across the following fifteen years.
Before NASAU.S. Marine Corps and naval aviator, then a Lockheed civilian test pilot before joining NASA's fifth astronaut group.
