About
The Wenchang Commercial Launch Site (Hainan Commercial Spaceport) is China's first dedicated commercial spaceport, operational since November 30, 2024, when the maiden Long March 12 lifted off from Pad 2. Built adjacent to the existing Wenchang government facility on Hainan Island to support China's rapidly growing commercial launch industry, it logged 8+ orbital missions by end-2025 and has Phase II construction underway adding two more pads.
